100% Chardonnay from the LL Vineyard, this is a traditional method sparkling wine, with the secondary fermentation, and the 2 years of maturation on lees occurring in this bottle. This gives a complex baked goods and honey hint to the delicate citrus fruit characteristics of the base wine.
The third release of a single block Chardonnay, grown in the coolest corner of the vineyard planted in 1989. This is a powerful and complex Chardonnay with great cellaring potential. This wine is made in very limited quantities.
On the lighter side of medium bodied, the riot of red fruits on the palate with a creamy, floral thread to the flavour. Moreish, savoury tannins and well-balanced acidity gives the palate freshness and intrigue. Complex and complete already, but should reward medium term cellaring.
Aromas of black cherry and kirsch, beetroot and earth. The palete is weighty and generous, with dark berries, balanced by the fine, powdery tannins giving great texture to the wine. A keeper.
The lighter, sandy soils of the northern Peninsula produce Pinot Noir of fragrance and generosity. Aromas from the whole bunch fermentation of dried mint, Campari and blood orange. Beautifully fresh and balanced in texture.
